What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a gentle, holistic treatment.
Your osteopath uses a system of diagnosis and treatment that lays an emphasis on the structural and mechanical problems of the body.

Osteopathic treatment is widely accepted. Like dentistry, can be given either independently or in conjunction with your doctors’ treatment. It is not necessary to see your doctor before consulting an osteopath, however if you are unsure, consult your doctor first.

An osteopath is able to treat children as well as adults. Recent years have seen a rapid increase in interest in the osteopathic approach to the primary health care of children, along with a growing need for such care.

What to expect…

Your first consultation will consist of a full medical case history to check your suitability for osteopathic treatment. You will then be examined to determine the exact nature of the problem and treatment where applicable will be discussed. You will receive treatment on your first visit if appropriate.

We are based in the centre of Wantage, Oxfordshire. For directions and a map on where to find us visit our contact page.
